Mr. Beans update!

This is the young rescue cattle dog whose trainer reached out to me for additional behavior help. Sometimes it takes a village! I got to meet him about a week ago in person.

He has major stranger danger, and trust issues. he doesn’t allow anyone to get too close to him, including his family. He hardly allows them to get a leash on.

His parents have been working on the strategies and skills outlined in our behavior consult. 💪

Yesterday, his trainer sent me a video of Mr. Beans laying on his back enjoying a,….. BELLY RUB!!! Unbelievable! 🤯🤩A dog exposing their belly puts them in a very vulnerable position. The dog can be saying, “I mean you no harm. Don’t hurt me.” or, they could be saying, “hey you! Scratch my belly please.”🐾🐾🐶😀

At the end of the day, you just don’t know what the dog will choose to do. When I work with dogs that struggle with their behavior, I truly feel that they do their best. I know when they are digging down deep and trying. When we are able to help them, guide them and support them while teaching them skills, we show them that they have options. We show them that they are safe and their choices are respected.❤️ He is a work in progress but just Wow!
